The Atlanta Falcons and starting quarterback Matt Ryan were able to iron out the details of a five-year extension that will pay the former No. 3 overall pick from Boston College more than $100 million ($103.75 million). Heading in to this season, Ryan has an impressive touchdown to interception ratio of 127-60.

Here are the details of Ryan’s deal from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen first reported the new deal, which will pay Ryan more per year than Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco who signed a rich $100 million deal of his own this offseason.

Ryan was hopeful that a new deal could be in place before the first practice of training camp and he finally received his wish. According to those who saw Ryan immediately after his deal, he was ecstatic and ready to get to work.

For the Falcons, the focus now shifts towards going on a deep playoff run.
