New York Jets Aaron Berry out for season after tearing ACL
By Bryan Rose
The New York Jets received some tough news this morning as defensive back Aaron Berry suffered a season-ending knee injury at practice.
Per Adam Schefter:
"Jets confirmed CB Aaron Berry suffered a season-ending knee injury at practice Friday morning. And here we go."
While Schefter doesn’t report on the actual injury, Manish Mehta says that Berry tore his acl in a collision with a fellow player:
"Jets CB Aaron Berry has a torn ACL, per Berry’s hometown ABC TV affiliate. He collided with WR Joseph Collins in 1-on-1 drills today. #nyj"
There are also conflicting reports as to what will become of Berry’s future with the Jets as some have suggested he’s not eligible for the PUP list which will result in him either being waived or placed on the I.R.
Berry was a once promising corner out of the University of Pittsburgh but struggled to live up to that hype in Detroit with the Lions. He was hoping to revive his career with the Jets but that wont be happening – at least not this season.
