Well this isn’t good news for Jonas Mouton.

As I reported yesterday, the San Diego Chargers linebacker was carted off the practice field with a possible knee injury.

Now, according to Michael Gehlken on Twitter, the inside linebacker is out for the season after tearing his right ACL on the 1st day of training camp.

He missed his entire rookie season with a shoulder injury, then picked up just 5 snaps last season. Mounton was schedule to compete for a backup role behind starting inside linebackers Donald Butler and San Diegos 2nd round draft pack, the infamous Manti Te’o.

This is the 2nd season ending jury the Chargers linebackers have suffered in the last 3 months. Melvin Ingram tore his ACL during mini camp practice, so right now whoever is left when it comes to linebackers, needs to be careful and play smart.

It seems like Mouton can’t catch a break, this could play into what the Chargers will do with him during next years off-season. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is released in 2014. A tough break, but, it’s a business.
