After signing point guard Beno Udrih, the New York Knicks roster stands at fourteen players, so the Knicks are in the market for one more body.

Content with their backcourt (I guess), the Knicks are looking to add a rotational/bench big and have apparent interest in a handful of players including Drew Gooden and Tyrus Thomas.

Per ESPN New York:

"The Knicks have also expressed interest in several little big men, such as Lou Amundson, Drew Gooden, Ivan Johnson and Tyrus Thomas, but only one (Johnson) would help the Knicks with his youth, defense, toughness, rebounding and inside scoring. While he’s 6-8, he plays much bigger. The others have suffered in health and/or production in recent years. They’re in the more-risk-than-reward category."

Neither of the options in Gooden or Thomas is all that attractive, though, as the final player on your bench you could certainly do worse.

Gooden spent last season in Milwaukee with the Bucks, though, only played in 16 games. Thomas was an amnesty casualty from the Charlotte Bobcats, where he continually struggled to produce.
