No matter how hard he tries, Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller will not avoid a suspension by the NFL, this according to Adam Schefter.

The ESPN scribe appeared on NFL Insiders Monday afternoon and suggested that negotiations between the NFL and Von Miller are ongoing and that there was no way he could avoid a suspension, rather, the best he’ll be able to do is get a reduced penalty from the league.

Per Schefter:

"“Here’s the bottom line,” said Schefter. “He is going to be suspended. It could go five, six, maybe more games depending on (negotiations).”"

Earlier today, fellow ESPN insider Chris Mortensen hinted that Von Miller is facing a six game suspension for a failed drug test (the drug has yet to be named, though Miller tested positive for marijuana and amphetamines as a rookie) but was hopeful that a settlement could be reached and the ban would be reduced to four games.

Either way, it appears Von Miller will be sidelined – it’s just a matter of for how long.
