Yesterday we learned that it’s extremely unlikely that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski would be available come Week 1. That has led many to believe the Patriots are considering placing Gronkowski on the reserve/PUP list, which would force the tight end to miss the first six games of the season.

However, if Gronk is placed on the reserve/PUP list, he wouldn’t count towards the Patriots 53-man roster. That is apparently good news for Tim Tebow as ESPN’s Adam Schefter has suggested Tebow’s roster spot could be directly impacted by the Patriots decision to put Gronkowski on the PUP list.

Per ESPN:

"What the Patriots do with Gronkowski also could impact quarterback Tim Tebow, who is on the roster bubble in New England. Should New England place Gronkowski on the PUP list, it would give the Patriots additional roster flexibility that could mean carrying a third quarterback. But if Gronkowski is not placed on PUP and stays on the roster, that will be one fewer spot available on the Patriots’ roster."
