There are a few players in the NFL known not only for their game, but for some personal attribute attached to them. Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is one of those players, well known for his long hair which he’s worn for years, dating back to his days at USC.

That is soon to change though as Polamalu recently posted on his Facebook that he will be cutting his hair, though, it will all be for a good cause:

"We talk about supporting veterans often, but now its time for us all to DO something. I’m getting a ceremonial haircut this Veterans Day for the #VFWManeEvent with Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW I DARE you to join me. www.VFWManeEvent.org"

There’s no mention of just how much of his hair he’s going to cut. It might just be a small bit – he might go full monty and shave it all off. I guess we’ll see in the coming days.

Either way, great way for Troy to bring awareness to the VFW Mane Event.
