Bills’ C.J. Spiller says he could play against Cleveland Browns
By Bryan Rose
The season hasn’t gotten off to the best start for Buffalo Bills starting running back C.J. Spiller.
In addition to struggling on the ground, Spiller has dealt with a couple momentary scares on the injury front. Thankfully nothing has been deemed serious, though when Spiller had his leg bent awkwardly in Sunday’s win over the Baltimore Ravens, there was concern it could be something that lingered.
Spiller, with a heavy limp, was able to make his way to the sideline under his own power though after the game there was concern that Spiller would likely miss the Bills’ matchup against the Cleveland Browns this Thursday.
The Bills running back still isn’t completely confident in his ability to play, but after experiencing reduced swelling, he’s hopeful he’ll be able to give it a go:
"Spiller said that if he can get 80-85 percent, “I think that’ll be enough for me to play”. And he adds “frustration level’s a 10."
Backup running back Fred Jackson suffered his own injury (mild MCL sprain) during the game, so expect an expanded role for Tashard Choice, with or without Spiller.
