Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Houston Texans, they do.

After suffering a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night, the Texans and their Super Bowl dreams fell to 2-3, two games behind the division leading Indianapolis Colts.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, they’ll now be without tight end Owen Daniels who suffered a non-displaced fibula fracture late in their loss to the 49ers.

Per ESPN:

"Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels suffered a non-displaced fibula fracture late in Sunday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers and is likely to miss four to six weeks, a source told ESPN."

Daniels is a bit of a safety net for the struggling Matt Schaub, so losing the ball magnet isn’t going to sit well for the Texans offensive game plan.

Garrett Graham is expected to take over for Daniels while rookie Ryan Griffin will replace Graham as the ‘backup’ tight end.

Needless to say, it’s a pretty hefty loss for the already struggling Texans.
