Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones may miss rest of year

It turns out the injury may have been lingering for some time now:
Mike Smith says Julio Jones will have 2nd opinion in Charlotte on Wednesday. First tests were not encouraging.

As if Monday night’s loss to the New York Jets wasn’t devastating enough to the Atlanta Falcons’ season, they may have lost their All-Pro receiver in the process, as Julio Jones suffered a foot injury that may knock him out the remainder of the season:

Initial determination by falcons is that Julio Jones season is over. They are hopeful 2nd opinion says otherwise but not optimistic

This is a nightmare for the Falcons, who just one month ago were being touted as a Super Bowl contender, and now will be more likely to be drafting the top-10 of net May’s NFL Draft if indeed Jones , one of the games’ best receivers, misses the next 11 games for a team that’s sitting at 1-4.
