The Kansas City Chiefs are getting a little more than they bargained for with the Houston Texans this Sunday evening, though, quarterback Alex Smith is doing everything he can to keep the Chiefs in it.

Of course, he had a little help from a friendly ghost – or something – as Smith attempted to hand the ball off to, well, nobody, stunning everybody who was watching.

As the Chiefs were pushing to score, just yards out, Smith hiked the ball and turned to his left, extending the ball for a handoff. Only problem? Nobody was there. And nobody was going to be there. Yet, Smith continued to sit the ball out in the open air until he finally realized nobody was going to grab it. So, Smith, with either a completely busted play or the best fake we’ve seen in weeks decided to run up the gut and score a touchdown.

Best part of the play might have not have been Smith’s scampering into the end zone but rather the quarterback just waiting for somebody, anybody to take the handoff before realizing he needed to get going.
