I’m sure you all remember former NFL wide receiver Freddie Mitchell, who was more known for bashing former quarterback Donovan McNabb and claiming himself to be ‘Fred-Ex’ because he ‘always delivered’, than his actual game.

Yes, that guy.

Well, that guy will be spending the next three plus years in prison, this after Mitchell struck a deal with prosecutors as he was facing a ten year sentence in a tax fraud scheme.

Per TMZ Sports:

"Former NFL star Freddie Mitchell — who went by the nickname Fred-X during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles — has just been sentenced to 37 MONTHS in prison for tax crimes, TMZSports has learned."

Mitchell, along with some shady tax accountants decided they’re lure high-profile athletes into their practice and give them a larger tax return than they were expected to receive.

Late last week, Mitchell suggested the blows to the head from playing in the NFL attributed to his poor decision making.

A former first round pick, the receiver who ‘always delivered’ ends his NFL career with five touchdowns and 90 receptions in four seasons.
