Say what you will about Tony Romo in the fourth quarter, the stats don’t lie – he’s among one of the best (if not the best, at least statistically) in the final minutes of the game.

Wait – what? He just hit a referee in the head with a wayward pass? I uh, well, dammit – the stats don’t lie!

As Romo was flushed out of the pocket by Minnesota Vikings defenders, he scrambled towards the sideline hoping he would be able to find an open receiver. He had no such luck though and decided it would be best to throw it away before he took a needless sack with the clock winding down.

Unfortunately for a referee positioned on the sideline, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time as Romo’s ‘pass’ drilled the ref in the head, sending him wobbling backwards a few feet.

He would be okay as would the Cowboys as just moments after Romo clobbered the unsuspecting referee, he threw a touchdown pass giving the Cowboys a late fourth quarter lead.

All part of the plan, obviously.
