The New Orleans Saints were able to escape their game against the San Francisco 49ers with a last second field goal, but in the process lost cornerback Jabari Greer to a nasty knee injury.

Just minutes into the game, Greer engaged in a down field battle with 49ers wide receiver Jon Baldwin. As Baldwin and Greer both went up for the ball, the Saints cornerback came down and his knee bent in a fashion that knees are not supposed to bend. It was quite the gruesome injury, especially when watched in slow motion which Fox Sports had no problem showing.

Greer momentarily attempted to stand up after he suffered the injury, but was unable to and the medical team rushed to his aid and placed his leg in an air cast before transporting him off the field via cart.

Head coach Sean Peyton said in his postgame comments that the injury suffered to Greer, who spent the evening in the hospital, were ‘serious’. Corey White is expected to take his spot in the lineup.
