The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on a three-game win streak and a large part of their recent success has come from their defense. A defense that has done well against opposing wide receivers as of late, much of that thanks to talented defensive back Darrelle Revis.

Unfortunately, the team might be without Revis for some time as the Pro Bowl defensive back injured his ankle in Sunday’s victory of the Detroit Lions. The severity of the ankle injury is currently unknown, at least according to head coach Greg Schiano who said he hopes the injury is of the short-term variety:

"Schiano says he hopes @Revis24 injury is short-term but admits he doesn’t know."

Tampa of course has little else to play for outside of pride, but they’d certainly like to ride some momentum into the final weeks of the regular season playing well. Losing Revis for an extended period will be a hefty blow to that idea, so hopefully the talented defender will be back on the field soon.

Tampa Bay expects to have a more clear picture into Revis’ prognosis on Tuesday.
