The Orlando Magic are in the middle (more like pre-middle) stages of a rebuild as they’re owners of one of the NBA’s youngest teams.

It’s shown in their record as they’re currently 8-19 and destined for yet another season in the lottery.

Knowing this, multiple teams have reportedly contacted the Magic in hopes of acquiring some of their veteran talent, including swingman Arron Afflalo.

The 28-year-old Afflalo is in the midst of a breakout campaign with the Magic and brings with him not only a very solid offensive game, but a defensive game that makes him one of the better wing defenders in the NBA. Understandably, as Yahoo Sports’ Marc J. Spears points out, teams would love to have him – but the Magic aren’t selling – at least not yet:

"NBA teams keep inquiring about whether guard Arron Afflalo is available for trade. Orlando keeps saying no, a source said."

Afflalo seems to be one of those players who is worth well more than his name value, which hurts Orlando as teams are unlikely to part with as much since his name doesn’t come with much star power.

For now, they may be better served hanging on to the veteran until they get an offer they can’t refuse.
