A week or so ago, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz said there was a ‘disconnect’ between quarterback Eli Manning and fellow wide receivers.

Nobody exactly knew what he meant – though head coach Tom Coughlin thinks he knows, suggesting that Cruz and his counterparts lost trust in Manning:

"Tom Coughlin on @WFAN660 says Eli Manning “lost an element of trust” with his wide receivers this season. #NYG"

It’s a pretty understandable stance considering Manning was a loose cannon behind center this season, throwing balls that were uncatchable (unless you wore the oppositions jersey) and constantly leading receivers into traffic jams, getting them laid out.

Manning, for what it’s worth, recently stated that he needed to play better moving forward and Cruz said he plans to meet up with his quarterback so they can get back on the same page again.

Regardless, it appears there were certainly some issues between all sides. Hopefully moving forward they’ll be erased and the Giants can get back to the impressive aerial attack they’ve been for a few seasons.
