Rapper Lil’ Wayne is about as big a sports fan as they come. And there’s a pretty good chance he roots for your favorite team since he’s a fan of just about everybody. Except maybe Richard Sherman.

The Seattle Seahawks defensive back has been the source of news this past week and it appears Wayne isn’t exactly buying it, recently suggesting he doesn’t feel Sherman’s ‘act’ is very natural. As if that wasn’t enough shade, Weezy, who sat down with Peter King and MMQB said that he doesn’t believe Sherman is a great player.

"“To me, the Richard Sherman thing … I think he does it, I don’t want to say for attention, I don’t believe it’s for attention, but I believe there is a technique to what he is doing. It all of a sudden doesn’t seem so natural. It seems like it used to be Richard Sherman loves to trash talk, but now, it’s kind of a technique. Not natural.”"

Wayne would continue that thought before breaking down the play of the former Stanford Cardinals player:

"“Well, Richard Sherman comes from the same place I come from, the street, and he’s doing a lot of talking where he really can’t back it up. I think he’s a shutdown player. But a great player? No. Great? I don’t think he’s a great player. Now if he plays great against Peyton, that will be huge. If he performs tremendously, that will [change things].”"

Seems like Wayne has a little bit of a unique view in regards to great players. One would assume a ‘shutdown’ defensive player would be considered great, no? Whatever the case, it doesn’t appear as if Weezy is feeling Sherman at the current moment.
