Star running back Jamaal Charles only played a few snaps during the Kansas City Chiefs playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts, amassing 18 yards on three carries before leaving the game with what was deemed to be a head injury.

Charles was not allowed to return to the Wild Card playoff game as the Chiefs medical staff noticed he was displaying concussion-like symptoms.

Understandably being cautious, Charles’ helmet was taken away and he watched his Chiefs suffer a heartbreaking loss from the bench. But the veteran running back says he doesn’t think he had a concussion, but was rather just ‘woozy’.

"“I was trying to get back on the field,” Charles said told KCSP (610 AM) on Tuesday. “I feel like I didn’t have a concussion. I kind of got (woozy), like a boxer. Just give me a 10 count and let me get back in the ring and let me fight again.”"

While I admire Charles’ dedication and determination to get back on the field, you simply can’t let anybody play if they’re feeling ‘woozy’, let alone after they banged their head.

Gut wrenching loss aside, the Chiefs did the right thing.
