The Atlanta Falcons needed to find themselves a great pass rusher to replace John Abraham. I knew Umenyiora was floating around in the market, but I didn’t expect the Falcons to land him. But the decision to sign the veteran defensive end was a great call by that Falcons front office.

They didn’t have the season they wanted with tight end Tony Gonzalez entering his for sure final year of his career. Atlanta was hoping they had what they needed in order to reach the NFC Championship game for the second year in a row, but instead fell flat on their faces with one of the worst records in the league.

Now they’ll have to re-evaluate their entire roster to see where they can improve and the defense will get looked at a lot. Osi had himself a great year with the Falcons. He recorded 47 tackles, 7.5 sacks and even recorded an interception. It was actually his first interception of his career, but his numbers improved from his 2012 season with the New York Giants.

According to D. Orlando Ledbetter on Twitter, he doesn’t expect the Atlanta Falcons to part ways with Osi Umenyiora.

So what do you think Falcons fans? Should Atlanta keep Osi on board, or find someone cheaper?
