The San Francisco 49ers had a few priorities going into the offseason, one of which was making sure Anquan Boldin remained in scarlet and gold.
So far so good as the two sides are expected to announce a re-signing in the next 24-hours, this according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
"I expect the next headline from San Francisco will not be Jim Harbaugh criticism, but agreement on contract with Anquan Boldin next 24 hrs"
Boldin, who was acquired during the last offseason via trade with the Baltimore Ravens became an intricate part of the San Francisco offense, especially during Michael Crabtree‘s injury rehab.
The deal is expected to be in the $10-12 million dollar range for two seasons, though, it’s not known if the second year will feature a team or player (or possibly mutual) option.
Despite the potential re-signing, it’s still expected San Francisco will look for a youthful wide reciever in the 2014 NFL Draft as Boldin is entering the final years of his career.
Boldin will continue to start opposite Michael Crabtree.
