If Phil Jackson wants to work for the New York Knicks, he’ll have the opportunity as according to Frank Isola of the Daily News, Jackson has been given an official offer by the Knicks organization.

Rumors broke early Friday suggesting that Jackson had met with members of the Knicks front office/ownership group but that’s as much as we heard on the subject. Now however it appears an official position with the team has been offered.

"Phil Jackson has been offered a front office position with the Knicks and is expected to give the club a decision sometime next week, the Daily News has learned.According to an NBA source, Garden Chairman James Dolan has met with Jackson about a potential return to the franchise where he was a member of the Knicks’ only two championship teams. Jackson also won 11 titles as a head coach with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers but apparently has no interest in coaching the Knicks."

Some have speculated that the Knicks may simply hire Jackson as a paid advisor to the organization while others have suggested he’ll have a much more in-depth role.

As of right now, there’s no word on what position was offered – just that an offer for a position was made.

Jackson is expected to make a decision by next week.
