What happened between Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams and his brother is unknown, though it won’t cost Williams his roster spot with the Bucs.

Head coach Lovie Smith told reporters today that Williams being the victim of a stabbing is not grounds to remove a player off the roster and he has no plans to ‘kick’ the wideout off the roster.

"Bucs coach Lovie Smith says there are no plans to kick Mike Williams off the team. Says that as far as he knows, Williams was a victim of an incident and that’s “not going to get you kicked off the football team,”"

It’s a pretty understandable statement and there’s no reason for Williams to be canned at this point until all the facts are now, because as of now, he does appear to be the victim.

That said, reports surfaced after the stabbing news suggesting that Tampa Bay was attempting to move Williams via trade, so how long he’s in their future plans is currently unknown. For now though, Williams appears poised to be a member of the Bucs going into the 2014 season.
