There have been previous reports that the Atlanta Falcons are hoping to trade to the top of the 2014 NFL Draft and the Houston Texans, who hold the No. 1 overall pick, have been mentioned as a potential partner. However, according to a report from SportsRadio 610 Houston, that may not be the case.

The station is reporting that the Falcons are not interested in a trade to the top spot in the draft because the team does not view the player they are targeting as being worth the No. 1 overall pick.

It is certainly a bizarre report, but it is still interesting.

If the Falcons are willing to move up from the No. 6 pick, you would imagine they think of the player they would be positioning themselves to select. However, as we get closer to the draft which is now less than a week away, we will see plenty of misdirection and smokescreens and this is just the latest example.
