When former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley went down with injury during Week 6 of the 2013 season, concern immediately shifted to Finley’s ability to have a normal, every day life outside of football.

More from Green Bay Packers

Returning to the field was the last thought in the mind of most, though the former Texas star has remained adamant that he’d play again.

Currently a free agent, Finley attempted to sign with the Seattle Seahawks during the early portions of NFL free agency though failed his physical. The disappointment only made Finley’s will to play again stronger as he announced soon after that he’d be undergoing more tests to prove his health.

We’re still awaiting the results of those tests, though after Finley’s cryptic social media post on Thursday, can we expect good news?

There wasn’t much to the tweet. In fact, it was only two words – ‘awesome news‘ – followed by an exclamation point and a hashtag that read #IWillRiseAgain.

Presumably, it sounds as if Finley received positive news in regards to his health clearance though it is a little odd that the tight end didn’t fill us in on that.

It could be that Finley may have found a team willing to give him an opportunity as well, though at this point everything is still a question mark.
