The Minnesota Timberwolves have been looking for a new head coach ever since Rick Adelman stepped down and took a different position within the organization. It’s not been an easy search as the Timberwolves are hardly an attractive destination, but they’re still trying to find a solid name to lead the team into the future.

According to Yahoo! Sports insider Marc J. Spears, the Wolves are set to interview Lionel Hollins, Sam Mitchell and Dave Joeger as they appear to be on the short list of candidates.

He later clarified that the three candidates were merely still in the running for the head coaching job in Minnesota, which seems to suggest either they have already interviewed or one is still pending for any one of the candidates mentioned.

Either way, the Wolves clearly have feelers out and now that they know their draft position — and that they were able to hold onto their first round pick — the process of hiring a new head coach should start to pick up here in the coming weeks.

The Kevin Love drama is really putting a damper on things but at the end of the day it appears that Minnesota has a short list of guys they want and we will see if any of them have mutual feelings towards the Wolves.
