I’m not sure the best way to attack a hornet nest is to swat it, but that’s exactly what Indiana Pacers swingman Lance Stephenson decided to do in regards to Miami Heat superstar LeBron James.

More from Indiana Pacers

A night after James and the Heat surged their way to a 2-1 series lead in the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals, Stephenson took a shot at the former MVP, suggesting that his trash talk is a sign of weakness.

While that sentiment may be true for some players, James doesn’t really fit the mold.

In addition to the trash talk, James has been destroying the Pacers through the series’ first three games, posting two games of plus 60 percent field goal shooting. Meanwhile, Stephenson, after two solid first games found himself struggling from the floor in Saturday’s loss, though he did contribute elsewhere.

Regardless, it appears the already bad blood between the two teams isn’t going to die down anytime soon, especially if verbal barbs continue to be shot back and forth.

Stephenson’s comments of course come after he was fined $5,000 dollars by the NBA and drew the ire of Heat players for a relatively hilarious flop during Indiana’s Game 2 loss.

The series will continue on Monday afternoon as the Pacers attempt to avoid a discouraging 3-1 series deficit.
