For the second consecutive year to kickoff the college football season, the Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers will clash head-to-head in a battle between two of the most prominent programs from the SEC and ACC respectively. Unlike last season, though, it won’t be getting the prime time slot on ABC as it was announced on Friday that the starting time for the game will be a 5:30 PM ET.

In last season’s meeting, both squads came into the game at Death Valley in Clemson with experienced teams and national championship hopes.

When it was all said and done, Clemson walked away with the 38-35 win, keeping their hopes alive at the time, while Georgia was left to pick up the pieces and move forward.

This year, the game will be a little different.

With the departures of quarterbacks Aaron Murray and Tajh Boyd, both teams will be debuting new signal-callers under center following kickoff, so at least for the beginning of the contest, it’ll be more of a feeling out process on the offensive side of the ball for both teams.

If anything in this one, Georgia has the edge with not only the redshirt senior Hutson Mason at quarterback who has seen some significant time throughout his career, but also a healthy Todd Gurley running the ball; and if anyone knows how much damage a solid Gurley can do, it’s Clemson.

This should be one of the most anticipated games of the opening weekend in college football. Who’s your pick? Let us know in the comments below.
