The Cleveland Indians are slowly climbing up the standings after digging a big hole for themselves to start the 2014 season.

On Sunday it was the speedy Michael Bourn who came through for the Indians as they defeated the Colorado Rockies in walk-off fashion and completed the series sweep.

With the score tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Bourn faced Rockies’ reliever Adam Ottavino with one out and a runner on second base. A guy who certainly is not known for his power, Bourn ran into a center-cut fastball and hit a walk-off home run into the right field seats. The shot was Bourn’s first career walk-off homer and his second homer of the 2014 season.

The Indians entered this past week coming off a series sweep of the Detroit Tigers and a series victory over the Baltimore Orioles. If not for the fact that they got swept by the Chicago White Sox before hosting the Rockies this week, they might be the talk of baseball right now. Their record sits at 27-30 for the season after Sunday’s win.

The Indians now turn their attention to a three-game home series against the Boston Red Sox.
