LeBron James will lead the Miami Heat against Tim Duncan’s San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals for the second year in a row. James and Duncan are each 1 for 2 against each other in the Finals, and this may be the rubber match to end all rubber matches. One that pits a fading, but still dominant generation against one still in its prime.

More from LeBron James

For all we know, James could be on a new team in a year or two and Duncan could retire by then. Let’s all take a moment and savor the greatness that this little rivalry has given us in the last two years. Then, when we’re done, let’s check out this crazy picture of what LeBron James looked like when Duncan won his first title with the Spurs in 1999.

Is it me or does LeBron look like one of the little kids from the fourth season of The Wire in that picture? And those arms! My goodness, I might have stood a chance in an arm wrestling match against THAT LeBron. At least for a few seconds.

The real question there would be what level of basketball could LeBron have feasibly handled at that size and age? I’m guessing he’d have been fine as a reserve on a college team, even as an incoming freshman.
