The Houston Rockets and general manager Daryl Morey are seemingly never content with their roster, always tinkering to find the right mix.

More from Houston Rockets

It certainly makes for an exciting (and possibly nauseating) time to be a Rockets fan though as the team is constantly churning through players, looking to find the right collection of talent.

Now with two All-Star talents on the roster in James Harden and Dwight Howard, the Rockets ‘plan’ to add another this offseason according to Basketball Insiders.

“Rockets GM Daryl Morey is not only hoping, but planning to add another All-Star to his roster in order to help Dwight Howard and James Harden get out of the first round of the playoffs next season,” says Bill Ingram.

Of course, the first two names that come to mind are that of Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony.

The Rockets are rumored to be interested in Love (understandably) and could put together a package involving the expiring contracts of both Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik. However, that’s unlikely to be enough bait for the Rockets so they’d need to either include more talent (say like Chandler Parsons), take back a poor salary and/or find a third team to assist in the deal.

As for Carmelo, he’s yet to opt out of his contract with the Knicks so it’s not a given he’ll be available to sign in free agency, though it’s expected he will do so regardless. Still, the Rockets would have to get a little crafty financially to get a deal done.

Houston could have eyes on another ‘All-Star’ caliber player, though, both Love and Anthony seem to be the favorites.
