The whirlwind that are the Kevin Love trade rumors continue to swirl today and the reports continue to get more conflicting in nature.

More from Boston Celtics

After news on Tuesday evening suggested the Boston Celtics were likely to provide the Minnesota Timberwolves their best trade option, countering news broke suggesting that multiple teams including the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets had made more lucrative offers.

Despite that, ESPN’s Chad Ford, who originally stated the Celtics had the best offer maintained his stance, calling them the favorites to land Love. However, Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe hears differently and believes the Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls and Denver Nuggets are the favorite to trade for the All-Star power forward.

Confused yet? Wait, it gets better.

Holmes isn’t the only Beantown native to dust off the Celtics as the favorite to land Kevin Love as Steve Bulpett originally reported that the Nuggets and Warriors had made better offers for the power forward and suggested they (the Nuggets and Warriors) weren’t the only teams who could give the Celtics a run on acquiring the veteran.

So what to make of this all? Well, there isn’t a lot though it is rather telling that both Holmes and Bulpett, both Boston-based writers, are hearing the Celtics aren’t in the lead for Love’s services. They of course could be using a similar source, though, there was no mention of the Chicago Bulls in Bulpett’s original report so that doesn’t seem likely.

Both the Warriors and Bulls have reportedly been in on the Love sweepstakes since its inception, though the Nuggets appear to be new in the chase.
