By Bryan Rose
Coming into the 2014 NBA Draft, there aren’t a ton of questions about potential number one pick Joel Embiid who many project to be a franchise player, assuming he stays healthy.

Of course, staying healthy is a concern some teams reportedly have regarding Embiid as the former Kansas star is coming off a stress fracture in his back, the second he’s suffered during his playing career with the first coming during his high school days.
Now the big man is injured again, though this time it’s his foot according to ESPN.
“He suffered a foot injury to his right foot, sometime over the last few days,” agent Arn Tellem told ESPN’s Andy Katz via phone Thursday morning. “He’s getting evaluations from various doctors and experts in the field. We’ll know more Friday.”
While the nature of the injury hasn’t been disclosed as of yet, a source reportedly informed ESPN that there’s a chance Embiid broke his foot though at this time there doesn’t appear to be any hard evidence suggesting such. Tellem, Embiid’s agent would not speculate on such though did suggest that it’s unlikely that his client would participate in anymore pre-draft workouts.
The details surrounding the injury are nearly non-existent as how he suffered the injury is still unknown, though we’ll likely figure out how serious it is and if it will hurt his draft stock moving forward.
Either way, I’m pretty sure doctors from teams holding a top five pick are scrambling however as they attempt to bring Embiid in for medical checks.
