This was another instance when you can’t decide who is under more pressure; the head coach or the quarterback. For the Dallas Cowboys, simply the fact that the team has had three consecutive years of mediocrity with the added bonus of losing the division-winning game in the regular season finale all three years. That’s kind of impressive, in an embarrassingly unimpressive way.

Jason Garrett is on the hot seat in 2014 for the simple fact that his owner is Jerry Jones. You can’t tell what exactly he’s going to do even if he says that Garrett is safe. In any other team, there would have been some kind of turnover at the GM, head coach, or quarterback level based on the results of the past 3 seasons. In the case of the Dallas Cowboys, however, the GM is the owner, so his job is safe no matter how many times the team finishes 8-8 and loses the game that could have won the division and given them a playoff berth.

Tony Romo is entering his 12th season in the league. If 2014 is a desperate year for Eli Manning, you better believe it’s even more pressure-packed for Tony Romo to perform well.
