NBA Draft Rumors: Clippers, Thunder, Suns looking to trade pick
By Bryan Rose
We’re just hours away from the 2014 NBA Draft and there are a handful of teams looking to move their first round draft pick, or the in the case of some teams, one of their multiple selections. That’s the word from Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated who says the Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns are all open to making a move.

The Clippers own the No. 28 pick while the Oklahoma City Thunder own the No. 29 pick. Neither are all that intriguing considering whomever is drafted at those spots will come with a guaranteed salary while those selected just a few picks later in the second round, do not.
Meanwhile, the Suns hold a variety of picks (14, 17, 27) and it’s not know which of them they’re trying to move or if they’re attempting to pair a couple of them together, though Mannix seems to suggest that it’s No. 27 they’re most likely attempting to move.
There may be a team out there desperate to move into the first round so it’s possible the said teams could potentially sell off their selection, but getting anything of value seems rather unlikely given the saturated market.
Clippers head coach Doc Rivers is said to prefer to have the additional roster spot and available cash for a veteran talent in free agency, which is likely the sentiment of the Thunder as well. The Suns meanwhile simply have too many picks and need to alleviate what would be a hefty roster crunch if they ended up using all of their draft picks.
The 2014 NBA Draft begins tonight at 8 PM eastern.
