The Sacramento Kings have been on the search for an additional point guard for some time and it appears they could be zeroing in on former Brooklyn Nets point, Shaun Livingston. Currently the Kings only have Isaiah Thomas on their roster, but he’s a restricted free agent and there appears to be some concern he may receive an offer the Kings deem too rich.

If that is to be the case, the Kings are expected to show interest in Shaun Livingston, this according to Sam Amick.

"The Kings are on the lookout for a starting point guard, and one name to keep an eye on is the Brooklyn Nets’ Shaun Livingston. The 28-year-old free-agent-to-be whose career looked all but over in 2007 when he had a devastating leg injury while with the Los Angeles Clippers had his best season yet in 2014-15, helping the Nets turn their season around when he started in place of the injured Deron Williams and remaining a vital part of their program even after he returned."

While Livingston did have a career resurgence with the Nets, it remains to be seen if he could remain healthy enough to be a starting NBA point guard, so it’s possible the Kings may be looking at him as more of a compliment to Thomas (assuming they keep him).

It’s also possible that the Kings could be preparing a backup plan if Thomas was to leave considering Livingston is likely to be on the wish list of a handful of teams and likely isn’t going to be that affordable in a reserve role.
