Johnny Manziel reminds Akili Smith of Akili Smith

If you are a NFL quarterback that was drafted in the first round — or a NFL quarterback regardless of where you were selected — one of the last things you want to hear is a comparison between yourself and mega-bust Akili Smith.

Unfortunately for Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, that is exactly what happened.
But it wasn’t a talking head on television that compared Manziel to Smith.
Instead, it was Akili Smith himself who drew some comparison’s between himself and the former Texas A&M star.
Smith was not predicting that Manziel will bust or saying that they have similar playing styles, but Smith is worried that Manziel likes to party way too much just like Smith did back in his day when he was a top quarterback prospect.
“Yeah, it’s written all over the wall with some of the things he’s doing in the offseason going to Vegas and all that stuff,” Smith told Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “He needs to put all that type of stuff to the side right now and focus on his career. That stuff is going to be there and if he doesn’t do that he is going to have a tough, tough time.”
Smith isn’t the only one worried about Manziel’s partying, but perhaps his comments can get through to Manziel.
If Manziel can learn from anyone about what living it up off the field and not taking your career seriously can do, Smith has walked the walk and would surely have plenty of lessons.
