The Brooklyn Nets are one of the oldest teams in the NBA so it shouldn’t come as a shock that they need to get younger. It’s something the front office is aware of and according to Nets Daily, something the team will attempt to do this offseason.

So what’s the plan? Well, at this point there doesn’t appear to be one – at least not publicly. But that doesn’t mean the Nets don’t have a variety of moves in their back pocket. Who exactly the Brooklyn Nets are targeting however, is an unknown.

Currently dealing with the Jason Kidd fiasco, the Nets have their hands full but they’re said to be in the market of acquiring assets like draft picks (they picked up two second round selections in the Jason Kidd swap) and it’s possible they may be looking to add more. It’s also the belief of Nets Daily that Brooklyn will attempt to bring in young, cheap players this offseason as the team doesn’t want to have a ton of committed salary come 2016 as their books will be relatively clean.

There were rumors suggesting the Nets had considered a trade of Brook Lopez for Larry Sanders of the Milwaukee Bucks, though, that was apparently requested by former head coach Jason Kidd. Still, that’s not the first rumored move involving Lopez so it’s possible he could be used as trade bait moving forward, though there’s nothing confirmed regarding such.

It’s also expected that point guard Shaun Livingston will not be back with the Brooklyn Nets this season as he continues to draw heavy free agent interest.
