Jeremy Lin rumors: Houston Rockets, Sixers talking trade?
By Bryan Rose
The Houston Rockets know that if they’re to sign Carmelo Anthony in free agency, they’ll have to clear some salary cap room. Part one of that process was completed when they traded Omer Asik to the New Orleans Pelicans and it appears they may be working on phase two as we speak.

In addition to Asik being moved, it was rumored that the Rockets would also be looking to trade Jeremy Lin and according to Jake Fischer the two sides are engaged in trade talks surrounding the point guard.
This of course isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Lin being linked to the 76ers as there were rumors on draft day that the two sides had interest in making a deal, but nothing ever manifested.
How far these talks will go is unknown, though it’s been made pretty clear that if the Rockets have any chance to sign Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James that Jeremy Lin will be given a first-class ticket out of town to clear enough financial room.
As for why the Sixers would have interest in Jeremy Lin, that remains to be seen. Philadelphia isn’t exactly in need at point guard considering they have Michael Carter-Williams locking up the position, though the Sixers did seem to have interest in the position during the NBA draft so it’s possible they could be looking for a combo guard who could spell MCW.
For now, there doesn’t appear to be anything imminent between the two sides but it’s something worth keeping an eye on.
