Murphy rushed for 1,793 yards and 22 touchdowns last year as a junior and is excited about the opportunity to play in the SEC and for a program on the rise at Mississippi State under Dan Mullen.
“To be part of the program and the elite players coming in is an honor,” Murphy said. “That’s such a big, well-known conference,” Murphy said. “My family in Mississippi, my family in Alabama, my family everywhere is all about football. To say they have a nephew or grandson playing in the SEC is something to be proud about.”
With the commitment of Murphy, Mississippi State now has 20 commitments in the 2015 class and moves past Florida State up to the No. 13 ranked class and the No. 8 class in the SEC, according to the 247Sports team rankings.
