Buffalo Bills news: Sammy Watkins gets shaken up at practice

The Buffalo Bills training camp is underway at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, New York which is great news for the team’s fans. Unfortunately, there was an early reason for the team and their fans to hold their collective breath.

More from Buffalo Bills

Rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins enters the season with high expectations as the top pass catcher in his class, and he was putting on a show in practice early.

That was until he took a big hit and was shaken up.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, Watkins needed to be attended to by trainers and it appears that a cut may have opened up on his head as a result of the hit from his teammate.

Garafolo wrote:

The good news is that Watkins doesn’t appear to be seriously injured.

Buffalo is hoping for a breakout year from young quarterback EJ Manuel, and having Watkins play up to his ability will be a big part of that success.

Hopefully the Bills will be able to avoid any further scary situations with their top receiver as training camp continues.
