With Cleveland Browns training camp set to open up soon, now more than ever all of the eyes will be on first-round draft pick Johnny Manziel. It might seem impossible to think that the focus could get any deeper on Manziel, but it will be once it’s time for the heavy lifting to start soon.

More from Cleveland Browns

Also now more than ever, people will be looking to see just how dedicated Manziel is to this craft, and that includes his new head coach Mike Pettine.

In speaking to the media on Wednesday, Pettine stated that in order for him to have a chance at beating out Brian Hoyer for the starting job, he will have to be more dedicated than ever.

If there has been one main gripe about Johnny Football, it’s been his lack of dedication. Well, actually, what people perceive to be his lack of dedication.

Soon, though, he will be stepping onto the field with the big boys, and if in fact he is not dedicated to being an NFL quarterback, it’ll be noticeable immediately.
