It seems Taj Gibson just can’t solidify his spot on the Chicago Bulls. Despite improved play every season of his career, the power forward is continually in the mix to be traded and today is no different as the former USC star has been linked to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a Kevin Love trade scenario.

More from Chicago Bulls

Fresh off a season in which he averaged 13 points on nearly 48 percent shooting off the bench, Taj Gibson had hoped the trade rumors that have haunted his career would finally die down this offseason. But that hasn’t been the case as he’s now one of the alleged targets of the Minnesota Timberwolves as they attempt to trade off disgruntled All-Star Kevin Love.

For what it’s worth, Gibson himself says the Chicago Bulls haven’t told him anything regarding a potential trade, though does understand that rumors are part of the business frustrating as they may be.

Gibson, who has been working out at the Chicago Bulls’ Berto Center says team officials tell him not to worry about the trade rumors, though that’s a lot easier said than done when you’re not directly involved in a potential deal.

Of course, being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves wouldn’t be all bad for Taj Gibson as he’d finally get out of Joakim Noah’s shadow and would be able to get well over 30 minutes per game, though with three years remaining on his contract he unfortunately won’t be able to play for a new deal.

For now, a deal between the two teams seems to be nothing more than a rumor.
