The MLB Trade Deadline is just around the corner and will be here in the next 24 hour, which means that we’re going to be hearing teams enter trade rumors that weren’t there before, but do so with a varying degree of seriousness.

One name that has been kicked around more and more in the last 24 hours is that of Cleveland Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who has been mentioned with both the Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants.
Add the Washington Nationals to that list, as Ken Rosenthal from FOX Sports reports that the Nats have inquired about not only Cabrera but New York Mets infielder Daniel Murphy.
This isn’t all that surprising as the Nationals need infield help after the loss of Ryan Zimmerman and could pull off a decent trade to land themselves a rather valuable piece to add to the lineup.
That doesn’t mean a trade will for sure get done, as it sounds like discussions have happened internally in Washington and with less than 24 hours to go until the deadline arrives, this is the wrong time to be just starting trade discussions with other teams.
