Traveon Samuel, Khane Pass commit to Louisville: Cardinals grab pair of 3-star recruits
Louisville got a big boost up the recruiting class rankings with the additions of a pair of three-star recruits on Friday morning in Traveon Samuel (Phenix City, Al. Central) and Khane Pass (Columbus, Ga. Carver), the duo are the No. 1 and No. 3 ranked recruits in the Cardinals class.
Samuel is 5-8, 180-pound running back who committed to Louisville over Auburn, South Carolina and Florida State, among others. He is the nation’s No. 361 player overall regardless of position, No. 11 all-purpose running back and the No. 13 player in the state of Alabama, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Last season as a junior, Samuel totaled 1,599 yards on offense and 25 touchdowns. He projects as a slot receiver in Bobby Petrino’s offense as a dangerous playmaker in space.
Pass is a 6-0, 195-pound safety and ranked as the nation’s No. 572 recruit overall regardless of position, No. 41 safety and the No. 55 recruit in the Peach State, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He committed to the Cardinals over offers from Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Clemson, among others. His younger brother Jawon pass is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2016 class, so the addition of Khane could do wonders for the recruitment for his younger brother.
Pass had 55 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass breakups last season as a junior.
With today’s commitments, Louisville now has 12 commitments in the 2015 class that currently ranks as the nation’s No. 49 class overall and the No. 11 class in the ACC.
