Quarterback in the NFL is the most important position in all of sports. As cliché as that sounds (and, frankly, is), it is exceedingly true, and the best example of that is to simply examine the year-end standings after each and every season. Simply put, the best teams in the NFL, virtually without exception, have top-tier signal callers, and if they don’t, then everything has to go right for those teams.

Before the 2014 season kicks off in September, there has been a lot of discussion as to who the best quarterbacks in the NFL are at this point in time. Ron Jaworski of ESPN has a high-profile list that is unveiled, part by part, to a great deal of scrutiny and (sometimes) praise, but in this space, we will simply be selecting and ranking the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
