When healthy, there was likely no better duo in the NBA the past few years than LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Of course, that duo is no longer given LeBron James decided to ditch South Beach and head back home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That doesn’t mean LeBron will be without a running mate though as Dion Waiters has reportedly been studying Dwyane Wade this offseason to better learn how to play alongside King James.

Speaking to Slam Magazine, Dion Waiters revealed his plan and how he hopes to contribute to James’ game.

“So like I told ESPN the other day, I’ve gone back and I’m watching film on D-Wade. I’m studying how he was able to put himself in a position to dominate the game off the ball. I know I’m not going to have the ball in my hands that much. I know I need to be more efficient. I’ll have it some, but I know I need to make adjustments when you have three ball-dominant players like LeBron, Ky and myself. So I’m just getting ready to do whatever it takes.”

Dion Waiters has caught a lot of flack during his time in Cleveland though the overly honest two-guard has shown a desire to win and this only contributes to such.

His style of game (volume scoring) can be understandably frustrating at times, but between LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Waiters himself, the Cleveland Cavaliers backcourt looks extremely impressive moving forward. Add in a potential addition of Kevin Love or even keeping Andrew Wiggins and it’s safe to say, Cleveland has a winner on their hands yet again.
