Cavaliers likely to sign Shawn Marion after Kevin Love trade
By Bryan Rose
The Cleveland Cavaliers can’t officially complete their trade for Kevin Love until August 23rd thanks to the contractual status of Andrew Wiggins. Given that, there’s always the possibility of something strange happening and the trade not going through.

However at this current moment it doesn’t look like there will be any issues regarding the trade and it’s simply a matter of time until Kevin Love is a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers organization. It’s also apparently only a matter of time until Shawn Marion follows in his footsteps.
Although Marion, who previously played for the Dallas Mavericks, is drawing interest from a handful of team (the Indiana Pacers were said to be the most intrigued), it seems as if the veteran forward has decided to play for the Cavaliers moving forward.
Appearing on ESPN’s SportsCenter, NBA insider Marc Stein said that once the Cavaliers complete their trade for Kevin Love, Shawn Marion will then sign with the team.
"ESPN.com’s Marc Stein said on Thursday that the Cavs “will get Shawn Marion if they get Kevin Love” on ESPN’s SportsCenter."
Many will probably be a bit irritated that Marion decided to sign with the Cavs as it’s just another player riding LeBron James’ coattails, though he would essentially be turning down more playing time and money to join the Cavs. Given that, it’s hard to begrudge him even though he’ll still likely draw the ire of some.
Cleveland only has the minimum to offer Marion, so he’ll be competing for an NBA title on a cheap contract.
