Thomas suffered from a spasm in his hamstring on Wednesday, according to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
As the Kansas City Star points out, the Chiefs injury list has been growing throughout the first few weeks of the preseason.
The Chiefs injury report includes, via the Kansas City Star:
"Starting running back Jamaal Charles (foot), wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (quadriceps), safety Eric Berry (heel), linebacker Joe Mays (wrist), wide receiver Junior Hemingway (hip), defensive lineman Mike Catapano (illness), cornerback Chris Owens (knee)."
Thomas has been a bright spot on the Chiefs’ roster throughout the first two weeks of the preseason, receiving reps at running back, wide receiver and on special teams.
The biggest highlight for Thomas came when he returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in the team’s preseason-opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Kansas City Chiefs resume their preseason on Saturday night at home when they host the Minnesota Vikings.
