Falcons WR Devin Hester rips off 31-yard TD reception against Titans (Video)

When the Atlanta Falcons acquired Devin Hester this offseason, everyone knew that they were getting one of the best playmakers in the league, and they apparently had some unique ideas for the veteran. One of them was using him as a wide receiver when they could, something they showed off on Saturday night against the Tennessee Titans as they got the scoring started.

With 8:38 to go in the first quarter, Matt Ryan dropped back and found Hester on the slant. From there, Hester wen full-on Hester, making the defensive backs miss as he cruised his way into the end zone for the six points and the lead for his new team.

Now that definitely gives the Falcons an added dimension to the offense. Having already two of the best wide receivers in the game in Julio Jones and Roddy White, Hester is the biggest wild card in the NFL, and as you saw above, he can strike at any moment.

When the regular season rolls around, it’ll be interesting to see how much the team uses Hester in the receiving game. You would suspect that they only have specialized packages ready for him. ‘

But if they can get results like this, they could find themselves back on top in the division in no time.
